Fraiser Hill Trip

Was in Fraiser Hill over the weekend, went up on thursday evening and came back on sunday evening with Jocelyn, Ruby and Yongliang. Had a great time up there and really really din want to come back. The pace up there was slow and the air was so fresh that it really rejunvenates me at each breath. On top of it, it was cooling like living in air-con room outdoor!! Temperature was average 23oC constant and could go down to 18oC at night!! So cooling that i hardly even sweat!!

Solitude time.
We spent a day really seeking God on our own. I was searching for the supporting verse or anchoring verse for our Album concept (heeding Simon's advise), so as to give the album a biblical anchorage. God eventually pointed me to Roman 8 verse 31 onwards.


Roman 8: 31 - 39
31 既 是 這 樣 ， 還 有 甚 麼 說 的 呢 ？ 神 若 幫 助 我 們 ， 誰 能 敵 擋 我 們 呢 ？

Generally, this verse states clearly that the love of God for us was best manifested in the deed of His son on the cross. There is now nothing that can isolate us from His love. Nothingoutside us as stated on v38&39, and nothing from within us (namely our issues and struggles) v35, can separate us from God!!! Therefore, each time we face our issues, we shall remember to look at the cross which is the manifestation of God's love for us that has gained victory over all things. Amen!!

By the way, i spent my solutide time on a table and chair infront of the window that is facing the hills. So nice!! Will upload the picture soon when Joce pass me the pics.

FDX production resumes!!
We will carry on our production next week, hopefully this time round, with clearer perspective that can and will set us on this Godly path. I am aiming for a FDX retreat up fraiser hill in 2008, after album launch. Maybe i could invite my mentor, also FR director, Pat up with us this time as i believe he will shed lights and perspectives for the ministry.

IPOD

Finally it has come to almost the end of the year 2007. It seems like time is flashing by and we are completely powerless towards it. Can still remember the same time last year that Stir has just finished the season.

Fraser Hill trip.
I am looking forward to this trip for a long time. I have worked hard over the past few months now and I really deserve a break of any sort. I also like to use this opportunity to seek God on what He has for me in 2008.

Worship team C.
Well, I got assigned to team C with familiar faces. People like Alvin, Seby are still in the team with a few changes too. Anyway, I din really bother who is or who’s out of the team. Playing worship for CEFC is merely a mean for me to stay active (and not just a seat warmer) in church. I still stay faithful to my calling in FDX, even if Fabian were to come tell me not to play, I’ll be glad.

FDX production
We are taking our year-end break with Jeff going to Japan for trip with family and me gog to fraser hill with Jocelyn and 2 other frends. The production will resume next week Thursday.

Anyway, I am deeply encouraged to know that Daniel and Alvin (my former bandmates) are supportive to what we are doing. They kindly offer their supports which I gladly appreciated. I miss the time of serving with them but I know that one day we will serve alongside again. Thanks Dan and Alvin.


IPOD classic
I finally strike out one of the item in my wish list by spending 500plus in total on this new gadget. Even though super heart ache to part with the money, but I believe it is a good investment for me to carry on to squeeze my creative juice into songs. I bought together with it, a 16bit/442khz microphone so that I can record my demo with great clarity. The Ipod also has enhanced sound quality as compared to Creative Zen. Therefore, I think it is a pretty good buy compare to PSP or PS3…. I am also very encouraged that Jocelyn is willing to chip in some part of the money as a token of showing support for our ministry.

Holiday breaks!!

It's getting a bit too cold to live these days. It has been raining all day everyday. Nothing seems to be really dry. My clothes feeling damped and it really dun feel nice without a absolute dry underwear...too much info har!!!hee.

Working life
Everyone seems to be on leave recently. The usual lunch crowd seems smaller and the lunchtable is also quieter. Well, i guess this is that part of the year!! Work has been piling up as usual!! Now i have to help out in my the tasks usually taken by my colleagues who has gone on leave. Siong har!!! but not so bad lah....I have big capacity mah!!

FDX Production
We are currently taking a X'mas break as Jeff and I are gog for our holidays with our loves one. He is gog Japan while i can only afford fazer hill!!! We have recently acquired the help of a keyboardist. She is quite a good hand and adds dimension to our music arrangment. We have also decided to add in an unplug keyboard version of one of our rock number. Things are getting exciting and we really thank God that He is bringing interesting pple to co-labour with us. Our journey with Him is always exciting!!

We also carry on to seek God that we can launch the album as scheduled.

Looking for a new band!!

I am looking for a band that may back us up when we go on the road next year summer when our album launched. An Adalaide gig is very likely and mainly some gigs in Malaysia bah. Nothing is confirmed yet. But it will be good that we 1st prepare a band 1st. Of cos, an audition will be conducted 1st. We need you to be proficient enuf to pull off our songs. Some songs are quite tricky.

We are looking for these positions.
Drummer – We desperately need to get one who is proficient. This is the most worrying position so far as our drum segment is rather tricky to tackle. Tempo must be consistent and tight lor!!

Bassist – we are still open in this position, but we kind of shortlisted one that has been working with us all these while. Only worried about his commitment and will carry on monitoring the progress.

E/Guitarist – we are also looking for another E/Guitarist that can shred alongside me. Infact, we have someone in mind already. A good frend of mine that I met in a music mission trip sometime ago. However, we just need to get him out of his retirement.

Keyboardist – may not need to one at all. But we may, depends on how things go.

FDX production - our ministry

Spearheading a new ministry can be challenging and exciting as each day goes by, God' revelation and encouragement seems clearer, it is one cool journey to take with God. However, at times things can get abit lonely when the pple around you seems to misunderstand your intention. Some even may look at me with contempt, to me, i dun really bother as long as i walk straight with God.

Ministry
What ministry am i toking about? In a nutshell, the ministry that i and 2 otherr guys are into, is to start up a recording label, that promotes and manage christian artists and inject them into the music industry. So much so that by doing this, they too will inject christian values and lifestyles into the world. Claiming the world for God!!

Well, some pple may think that this is similar to Forerunner's vision. Maybe it looks similar, but our ministry takes a very different approach and direction as compared to the former FR direction previously conveyed to me. Instead of focus on doing concerts, we hope to focus on album sales and promotion....something like what a normal commercial label will do. I do not know whether this works or not, but i am trusting God for it.

I certainly hope that i can work with FR ever again as my personnal mentor is now the director of FR and he's a great guy which i have learnt a great deal from. I have faith that he will turn FR around, turning them into a more suited vehicle for God to be all things to all men, so that by all means save some!!

Gotta work again

MESA very boogy!!!

It has been a tiring week for me as our process validation for one of the product is not running as smoothly as possible. It 's a sat morning and i am still in the office, kind of waiting for something to happen. However, praise God that i am drawing strength from Him and even though physically tired, but still am doing cool!!!

Guitar legends, or not so legend after all.

Recently has been watching the old guitar videos of legends whom i used to adore and exalt in some ways or the other. Just kind of find them not so great after all. Maybe it has been my personnal growth in my instrument, the stuffs that they do on the gui aren't too special or too difficult that i cant replicate. Coming again, it's not about replicating what they play, but whether i can come our with something as great and original as what they have come out with. So far, i am proud of what i am doing on this album and most of the songs contain my sounds and speciality. I cant wait to share this ablum with pple as it is not only my vision, my mission, a message, but also my sound and melodies tat have always been in my head before they were written. Jus cant wait!!!

Mesa Boogy

I am seriously comtemplating getting a mesa soon!! If the price is right i may see myself getting one really soon!!! May even get a musicman. Haha!!!

My Christmas Wishlist!!!

What i want for Xmas....If u are thinking of getting me a gift, below are some of the things u may think of getting me....haha!!!

Not in order of priority
1) Mesa Boogy Triple Rectifier - may have to get one when the album launch and we are getting on the road. POD is really a ma sa (toy) now!!! No kick!!

2) Music man guitar - or some other alternative to my AT200 which is essential for me to travel on the road!!! Pziezor(dunno how to spell) pickup is good when i have to switch to something clean

3) IPOD 80 Gb - Recently travelled with Alvin and tried out his IPOD. Good clear music and big memory spaces. But no recording function.

4) Mesa 4 by 12 cabinet - how can i go without it with that head? With these baby, everywhere i go, i'll turned the place over!!!

5) PSP - i guess the cheapest among all, it will be good to travel with it!!!

6) A band - so that i can shred my guitar high and low again!!! I have tot of getting an old frend who is also a shredder to form a new band!!! However, sadly he has retired due to a change in phase of life.. I have been dreaming all this time to play in the same stage with him but never had a chance!!! Really hope he can come out of his retirement and my band will always be waiting for him.



By the way, i was watching iron maiden playing live at abbey road!!! They sounded bad!!! No disrespect to the veteran, but their timing all over the place and the guitarist missed alot of notes!!! It's better they stay retired bah!!! Sorry, no offence!! Anyway, their music is too old school liao lah!!!

Still think that a band shld reduce their flair and increase their tightness!!! Cant stress that further!!

A brief Synopsis on the song.


When i first penned the song, I wanted to address this long frustration in my heart regarding my walk with Christ. I believe that alot of pple went thru or are still gog thru this struggle. "I simply cant do it!!! I cant keep up to your std God!!" God's std seems too far-fetch in our daily life!! It would have been easier if i am a full-time church worker who works in a christian environment, but i am not, I am struggling to live my life in the marketplace!!! To be competive, to be accepted, to standout, basically to survive in this world, i'll find myself got my life very divorced betw my daily living and my christian values!! It seems like i am living a two completely different life!

Each time when the Lord draws close to us, i am convicted and made a series of commitments and promises to the Lord, but i just simply unable to keep the promise. i keep falling short of His glory!! However, at the same time, i cant just give up...because i simply cant live our life properly without Him. Life would be purposeless without God.

I could just simply wait for that day, dat i will soar up the sky!!!
